You will not change the whole world with your blog, but you can make the world a better place for some people by solving their problems. Your blog should be informative about the subjects your target audience have an interest in, and then you can make life so much easier for some of them.
Think About Your Impact
The more followers you get, the more of an impact what you write will have. For instance, if one day you write about the advantages of healthier school catering you do not need many parents to read it before some start chatting to their schools to see what can be done. More of them will start visiting your blog to see what it’s all about, and that means that you could benefit from it too,
Or, for example, if you write your blog on how a pedestrian crossing in a certain place would make the road safer for the elderly, soon grandchildren and children will be chasing the local council to get one installed, and you’ll gain some much welcome exposure too!
Whether you are blogging about better school meals, cleaner hospitals or safer roads, social matters that affect the local community will always be popular and bring you more followers.
There cannot be many people that are not aware of the problems the planet is facing because of the way we humans are treating it, and although most people know it is an issue, many do not know what simple things they can do in their lives to help, which makes it an excellent subject to tackle.
Blogging on tips to make their homes more eco-friendly is always a favourite as is giving advice on recycling. What really goes down well is when you show them that the more environmentally things also tend to be cheaper, so that by going ‘green’ they can save money as well.
Put links in your blog, but only if they will be of help to the readers.
Getting More Clicks For Your Blog
Social issues, whether local or otherwise, are always favourites for people that read blogs. However, if you want to build a following you need to blog often, not just once a month. In fact, shorter blogs on a more regular basis are a better option to increase the number of clicks.
If you are blogging on social issues you are half way there, now you need to let people know about your page. Post it on social media and respond to any questions you get from it. Make sure your work is SEO friendly so you climb up the search engine rankings, but don’t let that make your blog boring.
People love stories so if you can find situations relating to the issue you are writing about, include them in your blog. Funny stories seem to get the best reaction and produce more followers, but of course, some stories will be sad.
Guest post on someone else’s blog, and let people guest post on yours. That way you will both benefit from each other’s followers.
Your blog can be funny or clever but above all else it must be interesting and helpful. Then you will know you have made the world a little better, even if it is just for a few people.
