2018 End of Year Goals

Lifestyle

by | Aug 8, 2018

It’s already August 2018 and I feel like I’m on a got damn hamster wheel. I know where I want to be in the near future but my actions aren’t getting me any closer. Ever since I started working from home with my full-time job in April of this year I haven’t got as much done as I thought I would. In between my failed romantic connections and gossip blog scrolling – I’ve found more time to bullshit than do what I’m supposed to. And I’m over it! So I’m making some goals I want to accomplish by the end of this year.

1. Relaunch my template shop

I’ve been working on creating an online shop filled with templates since like forever. I’m over it – and just ready to finish the damn thing already. So far I’ve created about 2 1/2 template websites. I’m hoping to launch the shop by September or October 2018 at the latest. I definitely want it  to be different than what’s on the market as far as offering an affordable approach to good design with my professional help.

2. FINISH FURNISHING MY PLACE

Last year I moved into a townhome in South Metro Atlanta. The space is huge with 3 bedrooms and unfortunately I’ve been taking my sweet ass time getting it furnished. I want to furnish my place with unique long-lasting pieces that show off my style. I’ve been using Wayfair to score ZGallerie-esque pieces for a fraction of the cost. I still need to buy a bed for the guest bedroom, a dining room table, and accent chairs for my living room.

3. PAY OFF REMAINING CREDIT CARD DEBT

I’m quite happy with the fact that I’ve paid off 4 out of 6 of my credit card balances this year. My car repairs set me back a few thousand so I lost my momentum a little bit. However, I’m planning to pay the last two off by December and do a little bit of plastic surgery (cut the cards up) when I’m done. I’m keeping 2 of the cards for things like car rentals and foreign transaction fees when traveling abroad. But I promise to never buy anything on credit that I can’t afford to pay cash for.

4. FIND NEW WAYS TO SOCIALIZE

Living alone is the best thing and worst thing all at once. Not to mention I also kind of cut my circle of friends down to next to none – so I’ve got some new friends to make. I’m planning to attend more meet-ups and possibly start my own meet-up for folks in the South Metro ATL area.

6. STICKING TO A DAILY SCHEDULE

For as long as I can remember I wanted to work from home. I had no idea that it would come in the form of my full-time job offering me a complete remote position – talking about dumb luck, right? I also didn’t realize how much time I would have my on my hands. I’ve made a list of things I want to accomplish each day that will get me closer to reaching all of the major goals in this post. Some things on this list include daily meditation, sticking to a healthy diet, working out, and practicing my coding skills.

7. REVAMP MY WARDROBE

I’ve never really been that great at shopping for every day items. I legit have the hardest time trying to find things to wear on the few days I have to go into the office or go out casually with friends. Every time I shop for clothing it’s usually a special occasion. I’m planning to add more basics and timeless pieces to my wardrobe.

9. PICK UP A PART TIME JOB

I haven’t had a part time job in forever – but if I’m going to get serious about being debt free by 2021 then I need the extra income like yesterday. I’m thinking about working at a grocery store since I’m always there any way. I’m one of the people that goes to the grocery store damn near everyday. Plus a little discount wouldn’t hurt either, right?

10. GROW MY EMAIL LIST

This year my email list started with just 23 subscribers. Currently, I’m a little over 400 subscribers. My goal is to end the year with at least 1500 subscribers. I feel like I can easily achieve this goal by consistently adding valuable freebies to my Freebie Library and pin like a mad woman on Pinterest. Oh well- we shall see!
