I don’t get to work with a lot of friends but when I do it’s always a blast. My latest project is a design for SuuFlay Collective LLC. SuuFlay is a collection of awesome things, hence the name collective.
To give you some background the founder, KellySuu, has created a platform that highlights independent artists on the rise. Plus she offers copywriting and editorial services for urban brands. Talking about a powerhouse, right?
So, of course when we got together to relaunch the site I knew it was going to be a LIT challenge. I also helped design the last SuuFlay website, but with the new direction the brand has taken it was time to definitely get a new look that encompassed the many parts of the brand.
One of the most challenging parts of any design is creating the feeling of a brand visually! Luckily I’m a huge fan of rap and hip hop so it was pretty easy to get into the zone and capture the feeling of the aesthetic while listening to trap music.
For this project, KellySuu and I collaborated and created a primary logo with color variations, (2) alternative logos, submark logo with color variations, and favicon with color variations. Right now, we’re still 50% away from the finish line for the website, but I have no doubt that the end results will be more wavy and groovy than I would have ever imagined. Keep tabs on the new SuuFlay.com site.
