Let's talk about logos. Some are super simple and some super extra, but which kind of logo should you go with for your brand? I'm sharing 3 tips that will help you create a timeless logo that will grow with your brand.
Keep It Real Simple
A logo isn’t meant to explain or describe what you do. It’s for identification purposes only. Using too many graphics can be distracting and take away the overall effectiveness. Remember, some of the best companies have straightforward logos. Think Apple, FedEx, Google, and Nike.
Think About Where the Logo Will Be Used
It’s essential to think about where the logo will be applied on and offline. For example, a logo with too many small details usually won’t scale well when it has to be applied to something as little as a pen. It’s also a good idea to have a few logo variations such as a horizontal, stacked, and mark.
Go for Timeless vs. Trendy
Trendy logos need to be updated often. Try to avoid current design trends unless the trend matches the overall vibe of the brand. Over time your logo may need to be updated. However, it should still be able to play off the original logo without confusing your audience with a completely new design.
